It’s nearly a decade ago that the familiar ‘traffic light’ labelling system started appearing on supermarket items signalling key health metrics around calories, sugar, salt and fat content. Fast-forward to now, and a similar emphasis is emerging in the grocery industry around the signalling of environmental sustainability data for food items.

The CGA by NielsenIQ & Slerp Hospitality at Home Tracker has revealed that delivery and takeaway sales remain well above pre-COVID-19 levels, with growth of 107% in May 2022 compared to May 2019.

Sainsbury’s has announced plans to transform its eat-in, takeaway and home delivery food and drink offer. The move follows a successful trial of a new food hall format called ‘The Restaurant Hub’ at one of its key stores. Consumer confidence about eating and drinking out remains high

New research from CGA suggests that more 70% now feel confident about visiting pubs, bars and restaurants. This is more than double the number of 34% who felt confident at the start of 2021, and a sharp increase on the total of 52% from CGA’s research in July.
