Westpak have frequently worked alongside Waitrose & Partners, supplying sustainable packaging for numerous fresh produce lines. This has included supplying packaging for their pioneering ‘Unpacked’ initiative, numerous punnets for various grapes varieties and, more recently, innovative card-based packaging for their green and gold kiwi ranges.

Recently, several core pieces of our supplied packaging have been featured in-store as part of the supermarket’s ‘Duchy Organic’ range, including microflute kiwi and grape punnets. Waitrose & Partners cite their Duchy Organic collection as being “the UK’s largest own-label organic food and drink brand” and one that’s also currently celebrating a thirty year milestone. The Duchy Organic range also recently underwent a full packaging rebrand, providing a more sustainably-focused visual identity. Each of our latest packaging additions to this iconic grocery range perfectly complements its contemporary and sustainable ethos.

Kiwi Punnets

We initially worked with Waitrose & partners in supplying similar kiwi punnets for their standard ‘Green’ and ‘Gold’ kiwi ranges (shown the image gallery below). Following the success of these product lines, we have now also been able to supply additional kiwi punnets for the latest Duchy Organic kiwi ranges. These punnets feature a robust microflute punnet base that holds the kiwis in place before being covered with an over-arching paper ‘lid’ through the use of linerless labelling technology from Ravenwood Packaging. This lid design provides a secure fit for the delicate fresh produce as well as offering generous ventilation and complete branding and printing compatibility.

Grape Punnets

We’ve worked with Waitrose on several previous occasions in supplying punnets for their grape ranges. This latest variation sits perfectly within the refreshed Duchy Organic range. The microflute material provides a neutral Kraft finish that perfectly complements Waitrose’s stylistic refresh as well as working perfectly alongside the range’s emphasis on sustainability. This understated finish also allows the fresh produce itself to be a core focal point for the consumer, showcasing its freshness and quality. These microflute punnets also offer a range of sustainable benefits. Each punnet is manufactured from more than 30% previously recycled material and is also widely recyclable and industrially compostable.
